Head of Treasury

 

About the job

The Digital Banking industry is in the middle of its growth and expansion, this is a chance to make progress in how funds are moved, how are handled and in the era of technology how fast are sent and received. We are looking to hire a Head of Treasury who will be responsible for the management of the Bank’s Treasury Function including Investment Capacity, Funding Strategy, Liquidity Management, Interest Rate Management and Treasury Assets.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • To lead and develop the treasury team of a growing bank, to minimise cost of funds while providing necessary funding for assets and operating within risk appetite

  • Strong commercial focus and ability to work within a collegiate culture to maximise the success if the bank as a whole

  • Operational competence in the managing all relevant treasury risks (primary liquidity and interest rate), including through use of interest rate hedging instrument

Liquidity

  • Lead development of the Bank’s funding plan and strategy, to support the evolution and growth of the Bank’s loan book, manage liquidity and interest rate risk, and to minimise funding costs

  • Ensure that the bank has sufficient liquidity to meet its obligations and is in compliance with Regulatory Liquidity Guidance, LCR, NSFR and internal risk appetite at all times

Interest Rate Risk

  • Understand, model and manage existing and projected interest rate risk in the banking book to within appetite

  • Work with prudential risk manager and finance team to calibrate appropriate IRRBB appetite within ICAAP

  • Lead use of interest rate swaps to manage IRRBB

Treasury Assets

  • Management of any treasury assets held, where appropriate (currently funds are held at BoE, but in time this may change)

BoE and other counterparties

  • Own relationship between Pegasus Alfa Ltd and Bank of England in relation to reserve account, liquidity facilities and other relevant matters

  • Own relationship between Pegasus Alfa Ltd and with money market counterparties, including Nostro and swap counterparties

General Treasury

  • To manage the Treasury team and contribute to Senior Leadership team on treasury related matters

  • Ensure that appropriate financial systems and controls are in place within Treasury

  • Review of regulatory returns relating to treasury matters (liquidity, IRRBB)

  • To keep under review all legislative, regulatory and government developments that might affect treasury and to maintain up to date policies and procedures

  • Review and management of Money Market Counterparty Limits

  • Contributor to Bank’s budget for Treasury related matters

  • Member of ALCO and Senior Leadership Team

Systems

  • Ownership of Treasury related systems – e.g. liquidity modelling (KnowCo), IRRBB modelling

 

Experience and skills sought:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA) or Treasurer (ACT) with minimum 10 years PQE and relevant Financial Services industry experience

  • Senior level accountancy/treasury experience

  • Strategic thinking skills

  • Competent IT (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Refinitive Eikon etc..) and presentation skills

  • Knowledge of Treasury risk modelling, administration and payments system

  • Knowledge of regulatory rules and regulation in relation to areas of responsibility.

  • Awareness of operating within the rules of an FCA and PRA regulated company

Head of Compliance and MLRO

You will also require the following:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a similar compliance or risk management role

  • Knowledge and familiarity of the following fintech regulations, digital banks functioning, all process form on-boarding a client to bank transactions and card payments.

This role reports to the Head of Business Development and faces into Commercial Clients & Corporate Clients sector specialist teams and works with the Relationship and Product Teams to drive market origination activity.

 

This role involves delivering a client-centric approach offering all relevant banking solutions for prospect clients at the point of origination, building and enhancing Pegasus Alfa's market profile and presence within the Commercial Clients segment, and working collaboratively with other relevant areas of Pegasus Alfa UK.

Key responsibilities of the Business Development Manager will include:

• Develop the business and bring new customers across the defined geographical area in order to increase both the quantity and quality of enquiries and applications submitted to the bank.

• Build a network of new partners for a higher engagement of new customers who will also be compliant with the regulations .

• Provide training, presentations and assistance to the partners as required, to ensure that our products and processes are well understood, utilising their industry experience and contacts. The primary objective is to ensure that our products and srvices are presented in a proper way of how they are helping the end customer and also make sure that everything is aligned with the regulations.

Key responsibilities of the Chief of Staff:

​

• Serve as liaison between staff, executives, senior leaders, and Group MD, regarding

company climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning.

• Attend board meetings across the various businesses, contributing where appropriate to

the engagement and where needed documenting minutes of the meeting.

• Oversee daily operations through collaboration with senior management and department

leaders, performing an array of administrative tasks from managing the Group MD’s

calendar, generating correspondence, maintaining hard copy and electronic files, planning,

and coordinating quarterly and annual corporate meetings with the company secretary,

and scheduling facilities.

• Work with the Group MD and business executives to execute special projects, these

include:

â–ª Drafting Chairman’s and managing directors Reports to Shareholders;

â–ª Compiling quarterly board packs and special reports therein;

â–ª Project management

â–ª Driving the process of necessary updates required for marketing collateral

• Plan and coordinate special events to ensure excellent execution and seamless flow,

these include:

â–ª Shareholder Communications and Roadshows;

â–ª Other strategic, social, or special events that fall outside the quarterly and annual

corporate meetings.

• Build and develop relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and effective

responsiveness into existing operations, and help to define new operational strategies.

• Consult with subject matter experts of the Group and each of the various businesses and

industries in which they operate, handling inquiries, performing analysis, and developing

action plans to address material business matters, and assisting with the preparation and

dissemination of communications.

• Build, analyze and assess business cases and financial models for ongoing and

prospective investments.

• Develop human capital frameworks and reporting structures and DEI requirements and

goals, participation in the Human Capital Forum is normally a monthly requirement.

• Assist Group Head of Finance with various report taskings and group organogram

designs.

• Assist chair of the board with board and committee management.

• Assist with ongoing/prospective transactions and admin and communications surrounding

these transactions as well as due diligence.

• Handle media and external stakeholder queries and demands where MD is not able to

attend to matters herself.

Key responsibilities of the Head of HR:

  • Take primacy on all HR activities within Pegasus Alfa and act as first point of contact for Pegasus Alfa’ senior management team.

  • Support and actively contribute to the achievement of Pegasus Alfa business plan.

  • Generate and manage an Pegasus Alfa HR plan which supports operational growth and aligns with the People Strategy and Divisional/Group requirements.

  • Provide ad-hoc advice and coaching on all HR issues and act as the subject matter expert on the HR components of change management projects.

  • Support all HR and resourcing aspects of bids, tenders, acquisitions, TUPEs and mobilisations.
